Vorbild
Ab 1964 began das RAW Dresden mit dem Bau von neuen offenen Güterwagen nach UIC Standard. Die Waggons wurden bei der Deutschen Reichsbahn eingereiht als Ommu 40.0. Es wurden mehr als 20.000 Exemplare gebaut.
Ab 1972 wurden diese Waggons als Es 5520 eingereiht. Die Waggons die für den internationalen Verkehr zugelasse waren, bekamen ein gut sichtbares "OPW" Logo.
Dieser Wagentyp wurde oft genutzt für den Transport von zb. Kohle, Holz und Schotter. Nicht nur auf Normalspur, sondern auch auf Schmalspur waren diese Wagen oft anzutreffen. Die Wagen wurden dann mittels Rollböcken oder Rollwagen befördert.
Als Anfang der 90-er Jahre die Deutsche Reichsbahn und die Deutsche Bundesbahn zusammen gefügt wurden, wurden diese Wagen mit einer DB (Typ Es25) Nummer versehen.
Modell
Dieses Artikel ist ein erster Schritt für unsere DB Freunde.
Viel Wert wurde auf die genaue Umsetzung in den Maßstab 1:22,5 gelegt. Das Modell wird aus hochwertigem Kunststoff hergestellt. Der Wagen nähert sich den gültigen IG Spur II Normen an.
Das Modell ist mit Edelstahl-Radreifen ausgestattet. Kugellager Achsen sorgen für bestes Fahrverhalten. Die Puffer und auch die Achsen sind gefedert.
Das Modell wurde entwickelt als Ladegut für die Rollböcke (Boerman Nr. 0005-0101, 0005-0201, usw.). Somit können Sie den Rollbockverkehr im Modell wieder voll erleben.
Die passende Rollbockgrube ist Boerman Nr.0005-0001.
Wir empfehlen dieses Modell auf Bogengleisen mit einem Radius ab 120 cm einzusetzten. Das befahren engerer Bogen bis 60 cm ist technisch möglich, kann aber bei längeren Zuggarnituren zu Entgleisungen führen.
Dieses Modell wird standard mit einer Stangenkupplung versehen. Hiermit kann während des Rollbockbetriebes auch geschoben werden ohne Überpufferungsgefahr.
Es gibt einen Zurüstsatz womit man den Wagen mit einer vorbildgerechten Schraubenkupplung ausstatten kann.

Prototype
Starting in 1964, the RAW Dresden (Germany) began with the construction of new gondolas meeting UIC standards. These freight cars wagons were were classified by the German State Railways as Ommu 40.0. More than 20,000 units were built.
Then starting in 1972, these cars were classified as Es 5520. Cars that were approved for operation on international rail lines were marked with a highly visible "OPW" logo.
This type of car was often used for the transport of coal, wood and gravel. Not only on Standard Gauge railroads; these cars were also often found on Narrow Gauge lines. The cars were then transported by means of carrier trucks or trolleys.
When at the beginning of the 90's the Deutsche Reichsbahn and the Deutsche Bundesbahn were joined, these cars were provided with a DB (type Es25) number.
Model
This model is our first step for the friends of the DB.
Much emphasis was placed on the exact implementation in the scale 1: 22.5. The model is constructed of high quality plastic and essentially meets IG Spur II standards.
The model is equipped with stainless steel wheels. Ball bearing axles ensure the best possible running characteristics. The buffers and also the axles are sprung.
The model was developed as a load for the carrier trucks (Boerman No. 0005-0101, 0005-0201, etc.). Thus, you can now fully experience carrier truck operation in the model.
The suitable carrier truck pit is Boerman Nr.0005-0001.
We recommend using this model on curves with a radius of 120 cm (8 ft diameter) or greater. It is technically possible to operate around tight R1 curves down to 60 cm (4 ft diameter), but this can lead to derailment with longer consists.
This model is provided with a rod coupling as standard equipment. Thus the car can also be pushed during carrier truck operation without fear of the buffers hooking together.
A kit is available with which you can equip the car with prototypical screw couplings.
