Magnus Bridal Will Lumbering Co. Dampflokomotive

Die Bauart Mallet ist eine der am weitesten verbreiteten Gelenkbauarten.
Sie ist auch eine jener Bauarten, die viele Jahre lang an Leistung und Wirtschaftlichkeit unübertroffen war.
Die Erfindung der Konstruktion kam von dem Schweizer Ingenieur,
Anatole Mallet, in den achtziger Jahren des 19. Jahrhunderts.

In den USA wurden Mallet-Lokomotiven erstmals 1904 in Dienst gestellt.
Wenige Jahre darauf wurden auch in Südamerika "Mallets" eingeführt.
Diese Lok fuhr bei einer privaten Linie in Brasilien.

Magnus Bridal Will Lumbering Co.Steam Locomotive

The Mallet locomotive design is one of the most common articulated types.
This is also one of those types where performance and economy was second to none for many years.
This design was invented by the Swiss engineer Anatole Mallet, in the eighties of the 19th century.

In the US, Mallet locomotives were first placed into service in 1904.
A few years later, "Mallets" were also introduced in South America.
This particular locomotive was in service at a private line in Brazil.
