Baldwin 4-4-0 Dampflok vom Typ American, lackiert unbeschriftet
Die Ausstellung zur Hundertjahrfeier, welche das 100jährige Jubiläum unserer Nation markierte, war ein Schaufenster des amerikanischen Geistes der Industrie und Kultur. Einige Lokomotivfabriken stellten Triebfahrzeuge für die 3,5 Meilen lange Eisenbahn der Ausstellung zur Verfügung, aber eine Baldwin 4-4-0 war die herausragende Darstellerin.
Die Baldwin 4-4-0 sollte eine Schlüsselrolle in der Entwicklung und dem Wachstum der amerikanischen Schmalspurbahnen spielen, um dann auf Bahnlinien auf der ganzen Welt zu dienen. Dieser Lokomotivtyp wurde mehr als jeder andere Typ in annähernd jeder Rolle in ganz Amerika verwendet.

Baldwin 4-4-0 American, painted unlettered
The 1876 Centennial Exhibition, which marked the 100th anniversary of our Nation‘s birth, was a showcase of the American spirit in industry and culture. Several locomotive manufacturers supplied motive power for the Exhibition‘s 3.5 mile passenger railroad, but a Baldwin 4-4-0 was the standout performer.
The Baldwin 4-4-0 went on to play a key role in the development and growth of U.S. narrow gauge railroads, and then served lines throughout the world. This style of locomotive was used more than any other in nearly every variety of service throughout the United States.
The locomotive is part of Bachmann's Spectrum series.
