Die Pennsylvania Railroad nannte sich stolz "The standard railroad of the world", doch auch die "Pennsy" wich manchmal von der Norm ab. Eine dieser Ausnahmen war die Schmalspur-Mogul, die auf der Ohio & Western-Strecke der Pennsy verkehrte. Jetzt können Sie diese faszinierende Lok auf Ihrer LGB-Anlage vorbildgetreu einsetzen. Das Modell ist mit digitalem Sound ausgestattet: Unter anderem hören Sie die Geräusche von Dampfausstoß, Glocke, Pfeife und Luftpumpe. Mit dem Mehrzugsystem können Sie die Geräusche sogar einzeln fernbedienen. Ein Sound-Schaltmagnet (17050) liegt bei, um Glocke und Pfeife auszulösen.
Vorbild
Die Mogul ist ein Klassiker unter den amerikanischen Loks. In der zweiten Hälfte des 19. Jahrhunderts wurden mehr als 10.000 dieser vielseitigen Loks gebaut. Moguls verkehrten auf fast allen Bahnlinien Nordamerikas im Personen- und im Güterverkehr. Der Name "Mogul" beschreibt die Achsfolge "2-6-0" (1'C) der Lok: Zwei Vorlaufräder, sechs große Treibräder und keine Nachlaufräder.

The Pennsylvania Railroad was known as "the standard railroad of the world," but sometimes, even the Pennsy deviated from its standards. One of those deviations was this narrow-gauge, Mogul loco which the Pennsy operated on its Ohio River & Western line. Now you can recreate that fascinating exception with this LGB model. Equipped with digital sound electronics, you´ll hear the exhaust chuffs, the bell, the whistle, the air pump and more. With the Multi-Train System, you can control the sounds independently. A magnetic track contact (17050) is included to activate the bell and whistle sounds.
The Prototype
The Mogul locomotive is an American classic. During the late 1800s and early 1900s, more than 10,000 of these versatile locos were built for freight and passenger service throughout North America. The term "Mogul" refers to the "2-6-0" wheel configuration of these locos: two small guide wheels followed by six big driving wheels and no trailing wheels.
