DEV Diesellok V3 (analog)
Vorbild:
Anfang des Jahres 1980 übernahm der DEV (Deutscher Eisenbahn Verein) die seit Jahren auf dem Gelände der Museumseisenbahn abgestellte V 122 der VGH ( Verkehrsbetriebe Grafschaft Hoya GmbH).
Diese Lok war zusammen mit der baugleichen V 22 als V 21 für die ehemalige Euskirchener Kreisbahn gebaut worden. Die Maschinen waren mit einer Vielfachsteuerung ausgestattet, so dass beide Lokomotiven gleichzeitig von einem Führerstand aus bedient werden konnten.
Als V 121 und V 122 wurden sie 1966 an die VGH veräußert und bedienten dort bis 1971 den verbliebenen schmalspurigen Streckenteil von Bruchhausen-Vilsen nach Asendorf (die heutige Museumseisenbahn).
Nachdem die VGH die Strecke aufgaben und der DEV sie vollständig für seinen Museumsbetrieb übernahm, plante man die beiden Diesellokomotiven auf 1435 mm umzuspuren. 1972 wurde die V 121 umgebaut, doch stellte sich dabei ein solches Unternehmen als zu aufwendig heraus. So blieb die V 122 unverändert bei der Museumseisenbahn abgestellt.
Seit 1982 ist die Lok untersucht und steht als V 3 im Dienst der Museumseisenbahn.

Prototype:
At the beginning of the year 1980, the DEV (Deutscher Eisenbahn Verein - German Railway Association) assumed responsibility for the VGH ( Verkehrsbetriebe Grafschaft Hoya GmbH - Public Transportation Services of the Shire Hoya) V122 which had been parked for years on the grounds of the museum railroad.
This locomotive, the V21, and the identical V22 were built for the former Euskirchener local railroad. The locomotives were equipped with an MU-control unit allowing both to be controlled from one cab.
Later known as the V121 and V122, they were sold to the VGH in 1966 and served there until 1971 on the remaining narrow-gauge section between Bruchhausen-Vilsen and Asendorf (now the museum railway).
After the VGH abandoned that line and the DEV took it over completely for their museum railway operation, it was planned to re-gauge the two diesel locomotives to run on standard gauge (1435 mm - 4 ft 8 1/2 jn). The V121 was converted in 1972, but the conversion turned out to be too costly so the V122 remained unchanged at the railway museum.
In 1982, a complete general inspection was performed on this locomotive and it has been in service since then at the museum railway as the "V3".
