Die Vorbilder dieses LGB-Modells verkehrten auf der Harzquerbahn und anderen Strecken der Deutschen Reichsbahn. Sie wurden vor allem zum Transport von Stammholz eingesetzt.
Zwei Wagen bildeten jeweils ein Drehschemelwagen-Paar.
