Ellok BR 194 der Deutschen Bahn AG.
Vorbild -

English
Electric locomotive type BR 194 of the German Federal Railways.
Prototype -
The type 194 locomotive is a six-axle, 128 ton electric locomotive with the first units manufactured by AEG, Germany in 1940. It was primarily intended for heavy freight service, but was also used for passenger service and even to pull express trains. By the end of World War II a total of 146 locos had been delivered to the then German State Railroad. The German Federal Railroad (DB) ordered additional locomotives between 1954 and 1956 with the running numbers E 94 178 to E 94 196 and E 94 262 to E 94 285 to alleviate the shortage of capable locomotives for heavy freight service. The E 94 designation was changed to the 194 designation in 1968 to keep with the standardized numbering scheme. The East German State Railroad placed 23 of these locomotives into service and used the type designation BR 254. A total of 47 units went to the Austrian Federal Railroad where the were re-designated as type 1020 in 1954. A few of these E 94 locomotives are still in service today at some private and tourist railroads.
