Vorbild:
Um der Zunahme des Verkehrs und dem überalterten Bestand an Triebfahrzeugen zu begegnen bestellte die RhB 1985 die ersten Triebwagen mit einem neuen Antriebskonzept. Die Drehstrom Antriebstechnik mit GTO-Thyristoren wurde in diesen Triebwagen erstmals bei der RhB angewendet.Die Fahrzeuge können über Vielfachsteuerung mit den bereits vorhandenen Triebwagen älterer
Bauart betrieben werden. Besonderheiten wie Anti-Schlupfregelung und Rückspeisemöglichkeit ins Netz wurden konsequent realisiert. Hersteller des mechanischen Teils ist die Schindler Wagon Bau, der elektrische Teil wurde von ABB ausgeführt.
Die Maschinen haben eine zulässige Höchstgeschwindigkeit von 65 km/h und tragen Namen verschiedener Städte (Brusio, Diavolezza, Hakone, ....)
Modell:
Das Modell ist in Ganzmetallausführung gefertigt, Kleinteile in Metallguß ausgeführt. Reichhaltige Detaillierung und Lackierung. Mit Inneneinrichtung und Innenbeleuchtung. Ein vollgekapseltes Getriebe mit Glockenankermotor, der alle Achsen eines Drehgestells antreibt, stellen Zuverlässigkeit und gute Fahreigenschaften sicher. Oberleitungsbetrieb ist möglich.
Der Triebwagen konnte als Analogmodell oder mit folgenden Decodern geliefert werden - Lenz, Zimo, Sonor, PZS.

Prototype:
To meet the increased traffic requirements and replace the aging stock of powered units, the RhB in 1985 ordered the first motor coach with a new drive concept. The three-phase drives with GTO thyristors was the first time these railcars were placed into service at the Rhätische Bahn. These vehicles were equipped with special controls which allowed them to operate with the already existing older railcars.
Special features such as anti-skid control and power recovery options were implemented. The manufacturer of the mechanical parts was Schindler Wagon construction, the electrical equipment was designed by ABB.
These rail cars are certified for a maximum speed of 65 km / h and bear the names of various cities (Brusio Diavolezza, Hakone, ....)
Model:
The model is an all-metal construction, small parts are manufactured as metal casting. Fine detailing and livery. With complete interior including lighting. A fully enclosed gearbox with coreless Faulhaber motor driving all axles of one truck (bogie) ensuring reliability and good driving characteristics.Catenary operation is possible.
This rail car was available as a DC powered model or with one of the following decoders: Lenz, Zimo, Sonor, PZS.
