Der VT 18.16 (ab 1970: Baureihe 175, Bauart Görlitz) ist ein dieselhydraulischer Schnelltriebzug (SVT) der ehemaligen Deutschen Reichsbahn der ab 1963 (Prototyp) vom VEB Waggonbau Görlitz gebaut wurde. Acht Triebzüge sowie sechs Zusatzmittelwagen (VMe) und zwei Reservetriebwagen (VTa 09 /10, später 175 017 + 019) wurden zwischen 1965 und 1968 in Serie gebaut. Die Serienproduktion war mit zwei 1000-PS-Motoren ausgestattet und war als vierteilige Einheit war eine Höchstgeschwindigkeit von 160 km/h zugelassen.
Anfang der 90er Jahre existierte nur noch ein einziger betriebsbereiter Zug (175 019, 313, 413, 014 und 2 VMe), welcher fortan als Museumszug der DR diente. Dieser erhielt 1992 die neue Baureihennummer 675 und wurde bis 2003 noch für das Nostalgieprogramm der DB genutzt; im April 2003 ging die letzte betriebsfähige Einheit auf „Abschiedstour“ durch Deutschland und das benachbarte europäische Ausland[1]. Mit Fristablauf im Juni 2003 wurde das Fahrzeug abgestellt und gehört heute zum Bestand des DB-Museums.
Modell :
Das Gehäuse besteht aus Zinkblech sowie schlagzähen Kunststoffen.
In den Kopfteilen ist jeweils ein zweiachsiger Antriebsblock eingebaut.
Ausgerüstet mit fahrtrichtungsabhängiger LED Beleuchtung.
Decoder/Soundmodule können ist problemlos nachgerüstet werden.
Der Triebzug sollte vorrangig auf großen Radien eingesetzt werden, befährt bedingt auch Radius R1 (600mm).
Als Ergänzung zur dreiteiligen Einheit wird ein weiterer Mittelwagen (Speisewagen) erhältlich sein.

The VT 18.16 (as of 1970: series 175, type Görlitz) is a diesel hydraulic multiple unit express rail car of the former German State Railway which was manufactured starting in 1963 (prototype) by the VEB Waggonbau of Görlitz in Germany. Between 1965 and 1968, eight of these units were built as well as six additional intermediate coaches (VMe) and two spare powered coaches (VTa 09 / 10, later 175 017 + 019). The regular production units weres equipped with two 1,000-horsepower engines and the four-piece rail car unit was certified for a top speed of 160 km / h (100 mph).
At the beginning of the 90s only one train was still in service (175 019, 313, 413, 014 and 2 VME): it served as a museum train for the DR (German State Railroad). In 1992, this train received the new series number 675 and was used until 2003 for the nostalgia program of the DB (German Federal Railroad). In April 2003, the last operable unit went on "farewell tour" of Germany and neighbouring European countries and in June 2003, the unit was parked and is now owned by the DB Museum.
Model:
The housing is made of zinc sheetmetal and impact-resistant plastic.
Each head unit is powered by a two-axle motorblock.
Equipped with direction-dependent LED lighting.
Decoder / Sound modules can be installed easily.
The railcar set should be used with large radii curves, however it will also handle most 4 foot curves.
To complement the three-part unit, anr intermediate coach (dining car) will also be available.
