Gegen Ende der 40er Jahre stellte die Elektro Motive Division (EMD) von General Motors diese klassische dieselelektrische Lok vor. Mit der markanten "Bulldoggen"-Nase und einer Leistung von 1500 PS war die F7 bei Eisenbahngesellschaften und Fans gleichermaßen beliebt. Mehr als 2300 F7-Loks wurden für Bahngesellschaften in ganz Amerika gebaut. Die Loks der Sante Fe mit ihrer auffälligen "Warbonnet"-Lackierung (Federschmuck eines Indianer-Häuptlings) zählen zu den bekanntesten F7. Beim LGB-Modell sorgen zwei Bühler-Motoren für beeindruckende Zugleistungen.

Fast 2400 F7-Loks wurden für viele verschiedene amerikanische Bahngesellschaften gebaut, wo sie bis in die 70-er Jahre im Güter- und Personenverkehr eingesetzt wurden.

In the late-1940´s, General Motor´s Electro Motive Division (EMD) introduced this classic diesel-electric locomotive. With its handsome "Bulldog" nose and 1,500 horsepower, the F7 "A-unit" was an instant hit with rail fans and railroads alike. In total, more than 2,300 were built for railroads across America. The most famous F7s belonged to the Santa Fe and wore the railroad´s striking "Warbonnet" livery. You can add that bold design to your layout with this big LGB model. Two Bühler-powered trucks provide remarkable pulling power.

The Prototype
