DR-Mallet-Lok 99 201.
Gelenklokomotive mit zwei Fahrwerken und Antrieb auf alle sechs Achsen. Das wuchtige vordere Fahrwerk zeigt schon rein äußerlich die kraftvolle Stärke der Lokomotive. Die Gestänge der Lok wurden in allen Einzelheiten nachgebildet. Zahlreiche Kesselaufbauten sind in feiner Gravur plastisch hervorgehoben. Das Führerhaus besitzt nicht nur einen Lüftungsaufsatz sondem auch eine komplette
Inneneinrichtung und Beleuchtung. Die Loklaternen leuchten wechselnd mit der Fahrtrichtung. Der Betriebsartenschalter bietet folgende Möglichkeiten:
Stromlos abstellen, abstellen mit Licht, Fahrt mit Beleuchtung und Dampf, Fahrt mit Beleuchtung, Dampf und Geräusch.
Technischer Höhepunkt dieser Malletlok ist die eingebaute neue digitale Dampflokgeräuschelektronik, die man mit ihrem realistischen, volltönenden Klang einfach gehört haben muß.
Ab ca. 1999 wurde diese Lok mit einer Decoderschnittstelle ausgerüstet.
Vorbild:
Die Lok wurde nach dem Ersten Weltkrieg an die Bayerische Staatsbahn verkauft, die sie als Gts 2x3/3 996 auf der Lokalbahn Eichstätt-Kinding einsetzte. Nach Bildung der Deutschen Reichsbahn wurde die Lok als DR-Lok 99 201 eingereiht. Sie verblieb bis zur Umspurung der Strecke auf 1435 mm im Jahr 1934 in Eichstätt.

This massive model - with its huge front cylinders - uses two big motors to drive all six axles. The drivetrain is reproduced in intricate detail with functional side rods and valve gear. Mounted on the frame is a beautifully detailed boiler with finely detailed parts. Inside the cab, you'II find a full inferior with lights. Roofmounted louvers keep the cab ventilated. The loco's lanterns automatically light in the
direction of travel. However, the finest feature of this loco is the new digital electronic sound system. You will not believe the realistic and full sound of this loco without experiencing it yourself.
Prototype:
For its branch line from Eichstätt to Kinding, the Royal Bavarian State Railways bought a huge metergauge Mallet loco. This loco uses superheated steam to power first the rear high pressure cylinders, and the exhaust then is used to power the front low pressure cylinders. Ta make up for the lower pressure, the front cylinders are much larger than the rear ones. The result is a very powerful locomotive that was remarkably successful in service. After the Royal Bavarian State Railways became part of the Deutsche Reichsbahn (DR) in the 1920s, the loco was renumbered DR 99201. lt remained on the Eichstätt line until that line was regauged to standard gauge in 1934. |
