Officiële wereldrecordpoging Beleef het live!
De poging komt dichterbij: In het kader van de feestelijkheden rondom het 175-jarige bestaan van de Zwitserse spoorwegen doet de Rhätische Bahn (RhB) op zaterdag 29 oktober 2022 een officiële poging om de langste reizigerstrein ter wereld te laten rijden. De 1910 meter lange trein met
100 rijtuigen gaat over het UNESCO Werelderfgoedtraject Albula/Bernina van Preda naar Bergün en verder over het Landwasser-viaduct rijden. De bijbehorende tests rondom de technische haalbaarheid en waarborging van de veiligheid zijn in de afgelopen maanden afgerond. De langste reizigerstrein ter wereld zal worden samengesteld uit 25 vleugeltreinen van het nieuwste type â€žCapricornâ€œ. Deze worden aangekocht in het kader van de grootste materieelaankoop uit de geschiedenis van de RhB tot 2024 en betekenen een grote stap in de modernisering van de Bündner Bahn. De recordpoging - vooropgesteld dat deze succesvol is - zal in het Guinness Book of Records worden opgenomen.

The attempt is going to happen: As part of the 175th anniversary celebrations of Swiss railroading the Rhaetian Railroad (RhB) is undertaking on Saturday, October 29, 2022 the official attempt to run
the longest passenger train in the world. The 1,910 meter / 6,207 foot
6 inch long train with 100 cars is to roll on the UNESCO Albula/Bernina World Heritage Line from Preda to Bergün and further across the Landwasser Viaduct. Appropriate tests for technical feasibility and to ensure safety took place in the past months. The longest passenger train in the world is to be composed of 25 auxiliary powered rail car trains of the newest type â€œCapricornâ€œ. These are being acquired by 2024 as part of the largest purchase of rolling stock in the history of the RhB and they are giving the Grisons railroad a big push in modernization. The record attempt â€“ provided it is successful â€“ is to be entered in the Guinness Book of Records.
