Southern Pacific Drovers Güterzugbegleitwagen (Caboose)
Diese Wagen wurden während der Weltwirtschaftskrise umgebaut, um Personenverkehr, Stückfracht und Caboose in einem Waggon zusammen zu fassen. Die wenigen Fahrgäste, denen man es zumuten konnte, in einem derartigen Wagen zu reisen, waren vor allem Viehtreiber (engl. = Drover). Daher wurde der Waggon im Volksmund „Drover's Caboose“ genannt.
Das LGB-Modell gibt das typische Aussehen dieses Wagens wieder, wie er bei der Southern Pacific® im Einsatz stand.

Southern Pacific Drovers Caboose
During the Depression, it was necessary to combine passenger accommodations, less-than-carload freight and the functions of a caboose in one car. The few passengers who would put up with all of this - riding at the end of a jerky freight train that stopped at every siding - were mostly cattle herders, hence the nickname “Drover's Caboose.â€
